Valley of Roses

Early morning departure, trip along the countryside to Kazanluk – the heart of the famous Valley of Roses; visit to an ethnographic complex introducing the every-day life of the old Bulgarians and the process of rose oil distillation; aromatic oil testing; lunch; visit to the Memorial Church in the village of Shipka, honoring those fallen in the Russo – Turkish Liberation War; crossing of the ridges of the Balkan Mountains to Mount Stoletov and an optional visit to the Monument of the Liberation; visit to Etura – an open air ethnographic museum where one can see craftsmen at work; late evening return.
